Best barbecue I’ve had in my entire life, I had the pulled pork sandwich, yams, baked beans and slaw. I will never forget the taste of this delicious food hitting my tongue for the first time. Food came out fast and staff was beyond friendly, I will most definitely be coming back on my next visit to Athens

Not sure why this has such great reviews or maybe I just got unlucky with the food. Then Athens isn't known for their food so you all might not know good food which I understand I guess. The pulled pork was salted to all hell tasted like it came from a can. 2/10 Sausage was good 7/10 Chicken was also ok not bad 6.6/10 Ribs were nothing special 5/10 Corn bread bites - Dry as hell & burnt 1/10 #tragic Baked beans were probably the best part 8/10 Jim N Nick's commercialized and franchised and everything still clears

If you are CATERING an event USE DAWG GONE GOOD BBQ. THEY ARE THE BEST! Booking Dawg Gone for my wedding was an amazing decision, BJ and his team not only brought amazing food but were friendly and professional and brought good vibes to the whole event. Everyone could not stop talking about how amazing the brisket and desserts were. They also catered the wedding at a more than fair price and BJ was committed to getting me the best price for everything I needed without trying to up-charge me. He helped make our day perfect and we are very grateful to him and his whole team. If you have an event, Dawg Gone will impress. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This fabulous BBQ restaurant is owned by the nicest Southern gentleman and his family. The BBQ meats are delicious alone, but they have at least 4 different yummy sauces. The sides are also important to us, and the four we tried were wonderful: coleslaw, baked beans, squash casserole, and the fabulous collard greens.

Dawg Gone Good BBQ is nothing short of its namesake. The folks are sweet, and attentive, the barbecue is DELICIOUS, hands down some of the best I’ve had, and the atmosphere is exactly what it should be; homey and charming. Pictured is the sampler platter, which is two servings of pulled pork, a chicken sausage, 2 ribs and 2 sides. This MOUNTAIN of delicious barbecue will run you $18, and my girlfriend usually goes for the pulled pork platter, which is an insanely reasonable $8 (comes with a pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides). The dessert is to die for as well, with the banana pudding and cobblers rivaling whatever you get at your grandmas. We swing by this place weekly to stuff our faces with some truly dawg gone good barbecue.
